I can get the TLC5973 working, but I see a major flaw in the design:
When I send a GSLAT signal to latch the data, the whole PWM generator resets and starts with the new data. This generates a glitch/jitter in the PWM. Even if the data is the same.
It should be buffered and sent to output when PWM cycle is completed.
This bug is noticable in the following scenarios:
when I have 2 strings of different length, despice the same data for the first pixels, they will not have the same intensity since the PWM generators restart at different times and will generate an extra pulse.
at low intensities the output is not stable as the refreshrate is not the same as the PWM frequency.
both are not acceptable as this is a more high-end 12 bit led driver!!!
My question: is there a possibility this will be fixed in the future or do I have to continue my search for a good led driver? siti drivers have this flaw too. shame!
