LM3435: EN pin

Guru 29690 points

Hi Team,

My customer considers to control EN pin from GPIO.

1)
Is it possible to apply 5V to EN pin before VIN(=5V) is applied?
I believe it is no ploblem but would like to confirm just in case.

2)
Is wait time required from applying EN high level to I2C access?
I assume VIN is previously supplied in this case.

Best Regards,

  • Hi Yaita-san,

    1. We did not test the sequencing. We have internal pull-up on the EN pin so in theory there is no need to have external enable. However, if you want to disable the device while not cutting out input voltage, you need to assert a voltage below 0.2 x VIN to shut it down.

    2. Once the device is enabled and the SVDD is stable and within operating voltage (1.8 V <= SVDD <= VIN), I2C can be accessed.

    Thanks!
