LM3508: LM3508 vs LM3509 question about calculation formula

Part Number: LM3508
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3509

Dear support member,

My customer used LM3508.

I have question about calculation formula.

LM3508 datasheet 14 page formula 9 include Inductor.

LM3508 same series LM3509 datasheet 22 page formula 8 do not include Inductor.

Why does LM3508 formula 9 include Inductor?

I have attached file.

Could you check attached file?

Best regard.

  • Hi Bob,

Your observation is right. There is a typo in the LM3508 data sheet. It was confimed by one of our designers in the resonse below. We will correct it as soon as possible.

    Thanks for the heads-up

    Hi John,

Yes, the L should NOT be in the denominator of the formula. The equation (8) in LM3509 is correct. The equation (9) in the LM3508 is NOT correct.

    Best Regards,

    Nat
