TPS92640: Choise IC for LED driver with good dimming ratio on analog dimming.

Part Number: TPS92640

Hi,

I desing LED driver for analog dimming mode:

V supply 12-48V

Max LED currents 250,350,500,700,1000,1200mA (choice by swithers)

Dimming 0-100% by analog mode (will convert PWM to analog)

LEDs quantity 1-12

What IC can you recommend for it?

For now I working on TPS92640, but now is some stock shortage with lead time by next year. Will has this chip stable production, or I need to choice another one?

Regards,

Andrey.

  • Hello Andrey,

That device is the best in terms of analog dimming range and accuracy so it is a good choice. I can't be sure about production issues however. I suspect it should be stable as it is a popular device. But your best bet is to contact an authorized distributor or the local TI sales office. If they are aware of potential demand they should be able to help relay that information to the fabs and help make sure there is availability.

    Regards,

    Clint
