LM36011: LM36011 IVFM

Part Number: LM36011

Dear sir

Since datahstte doesn’t description further details about  IVFM (Input voltage flash monitor) function of LM36011 , may help check below issue?

My application:

LM36011 Vin 5V, Vout 360mA (Vf 4.2V).

According to the datasheet description , the IVFM 2.9~3.6V,  if our output  LED VF =3.9~4.6, will it cause any problem? or just disable this function?

thanks.

  • Hi,

The IVFM feature is disabled by default so it would not get triggered. IVFM is a feature that monitors Vin and reduces the flash current when Vin drops below the selected threshold. With your conditions (Vin = 5V) it should never get triggered unless there is a very large line drop at the supply.
