Dear E2E member,

I want to find a Laser Driver solution.

Vin = 38V, VOUT = 80V, IOUT = 3A (constant current output)

Does TI have suitable solution?

Hello Julian,

This will require a boost controller. We have 3 suitable devices: TPS92690, TPS92691, and TPS92692. Low side current sensing will be required so that the IC itself does not have 80V applied to it anywhere, but all 3 can handle these specs. They are all similar so which you choose would depend on what other features you may need.

but TPS92691 CSP+ and CSP- recommend ratings just only 65V. Is it suitable for this condition?

Hello Julian,

The CSP/CSN pins can common mode to ground so you can do low side current sensing. You can connect CSN to ground and CSP to LED- so it is at a low voltage and no pins on the IC will see the 80V output voltage.
