LP8863-Q1: Usage of FSM_DIAGNOSTICS to detect if IC boot up correctly

Thanks for the reply. I was told that if I received 3h I will need to do a reset, and Dh means all is fine. What about the rest? I'm trying to figure out what value or values I should keep a lookout for.

Possible to elaborate what each value meant? 

I think I made a mistake in the above - I was referring the value 0x11, not 0011. My bad.

11h refers to LED FAULT, the reason why we don't include this in the FSM description is because there is already INTERRUPT_STATUS_2 register which indicates LED FAULTs and actually shows more details on the type of fault (short or open) and the strings that are affected. Please use INTERRUPT_STATUS registers as well for fault diagnostics.

Here's what I observed.

Actually I did check both registers, first the interrupt status 2, then the FSM register. In my case I am able to trigger the OPEN LED fault by disconnecting the LCD cable.

The status 2 register will show OPEN_LED fault every time, plus 1 - 6 LED faults. The FSM register, however, does not read 11h every time.

There are times when I read OPEN_LED fault + 1 LED fault, and the FSM reads 11h. When this happens, my LCD has blackout completely.

I agree that we should read status 2 register, but somehow it's not accurate enough - 1 LED fault above should still shows some backlight, not complete blackout. That's why I have to also read FSM for 11h.

Problem is in the datasheet for FSM as it didn't mentioned about 11h.

Questions:

1) Besides 11h and those mentioned in the datasheet, are there any other values?

2) 11h = LED_FAULT or ALL_LED_FAULT?
