LM3429 PWM BUCK BOOST EVAL

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3429

Hello Sir, Madam,

We are trying to operate LM3429 PWM BUCK BOOST EVAL with 5Vin in order to get 13 Vout but, it only accepts minimum 10Vin.

Tough, In the data sheet of the driver it is noted that it can accept Min Vin 4.5v to 75v to boost (in the eval data sheet it shows 10-70Vin).

Please advice what we need to change in the eval so it will accept 5Vin by usung internal PWM function?

Thank you in Advance!

  • Hello,

Yes, the LM3429 can do minimum 4.5V input. 10V to 70V is just the spec of the EVM board.

I will suggest you to follow the design guide in LM3429 data sheet from pg.24(the buck-boost schematic is on pg23) to do the modification. I think you may need to change the inductor and the resistors connected to Vin since your duty cycle is around 30% which is the major difference compare to the buck-boost EVM.

    Best regards,

    Victor
