Can you please advise if the TPS74201 5x5mm QFN package can handle ~1.3W without any air flow? what would be any special layout or PCB design considerations?

    Hi Madhuri,

    For thermal considerations you we provide a Thermal Information table on page 3 of the datasheet.  I have copied this table here for convenience:

    The operating junction temperature max is 125C.  By using Thetaja we can calculate 30.5C/W x 1.3W = 39.65C rise over the ambient temperature.  As such, you would need to keep the ambient temperature below 85C in order to remain in the operating temperature range.

    We provide more information on Thermal Protection and Layout Recommendations starting on Page 16 of the datasheet.
