LP38852 / Slew rate condition at load transient response

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP38852

Hi All,

Can you confirm the slew rate condition at load transient response in datasheet? Or please let us know the typical setting or equipment that is used at testing for SVA LDO If it's difficult to confirm the exact condition.

Best Regards,

Sonoki / Japan Disty

  • Hi All,

Please contact me directly if you need. Your response will be appreciated.

  • Hello Sonoki,

The condition for this datasheet load transient data is below.

    • R1=1.4kΩ, R2=1.0kΩ
    • VOUT = 1.2V (VOUT=  VADJ x (1+(R1/R2)), where VADJ= 500mV)
    • VIN= VOUT(NOM) + 1V =  2.2V
    • VBIAS = 3.0V
    • CIN = COUT = 10 uF, CBIAS = 1uF and CSS = Open
    • TJ = 25 °C
    • IOUT = 10mA to 1.5A

    Hope this answers your question.

    Kind regards,

    Zarni Tun

  • Hi Zami,

I'd like to know the slew rate of load transient. Please refer inserted that is example from TPS774xx. I believe that such information is not included in LP38852 datasheet.

    Best Regards,

    Sonoki

  • Hello Sonoki-San,

We don't have a slew rate information on the datasheet, and we are following up on the detail. What is the load transient requirement for the application in which LP38852 is used?

    Thanks,

    Zarni

  • Hi Zami-san,

Thank you for your continuous support. Please give your update when you will be able to have any information.

    Here is our customer's situation.

    • Load is supply for transceiver in FPGA
    • Vout = 1.1V from 1.8V input
    • Maximum load current is 1.2A
    • They do not care about overshoot/undershoot because there is no large transient in their actual system
    • They concern about the duration of ringing in preference to overshoot/undershoot
    • Their goal is to achieve the shorter duration of ringing than the waveform in datasheet at their actual system

    Best Regards,

    Sonoki

  • Hi Zami-san,

Can you find any information? Your response will be appreciated.

  • Hello Sonoki-San,

Sorry about my delay response. The typical load transient slew rate for this device is 1A/us. Hope this works for you.

    Kind regards,
