Stable DC Power Supply

Hi,

I am having a d.c. power source, which while connecting with amplifier circuit introduces noise. I want to design a circuit which will provide a highly stable power supply voltage (6 V). Kindly suggest me.

  • Hi Nishant,

In order to help narrow down the options, could you provide more information about your system.  I see that you want 6V as the output of the LDO.  What is the input?  How much current will the load require?

Below please find a link to a useful tool to help narrow down the LDOs based on your application requirements.

  • Hi Ryan,

The input to this circuit is also 6 V d.c. directly feeding from a d.c. source. The load current will be approximately 0.15 A. Basically, I do not want to change amplitude of the signal, but to remove noise from d.c. power source and get a stable power supply up to 6.000 V.

  • Hi Nishant,

In order to realize the benefits of an LDO there needs to be some headroom (Vin - Vout).  Without this headroom, the LDO would be in dropout and any PSRR benefit would be severely degraded.  Take a look at TPS79901.  This device can fulfill your requirements with only 90mV (typical) of dropout.

    Very Respectfully,
