LP2981 - Suitable for powering microcontrollers ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP2981, LP2981-N

The LDO LP2981 is designed for supply microcontrollers ?

Explain better my question.

The datasheet recommend the use of tantalum capacitors on voltage outputs (ESR>1ohm) and strictly excludes ceramic capacitors.

This means that isn’t possible to supply microcontrollers because for them is always recommended a 100nF decoupling ceramic capacitors (ESR<<1ohm) for Vdd.

Thus, ceramic capacitors  in parallel with tantalum capacitors reduce the ESR enough to go below the minimum stable value for the LP2981-N and cause oscillations.

In other words LP2981 isn't able to supply microcontrollers .

It’s correct ?
