TL751M12 - Current Limit

Hi,

A customer of mine is considering the TL751M12 for a project, but the data sheet lacks information about current limit. Do you have more data, please? Please feel free to send this direct to me off the forum.

They are interested in the maximum current the TL751M12 can provide. Lower is better because it might overload the upstream power supply. A plot of maximum current versus output voltage, at various temperatures, would be very useful.

The input voltage will be close to the 12V + dropout voltage. Sometimes the input voltage will be below 12V – perhaps as low as 6 V. Does this affect current limit or stability?

Additionally;

  • Does thermal shutdown degrade lifetime or reliability the device?
  • Is the device tolerant of 32 V applied to the output terminal while the input terminal is in the range 0 to 12 V?

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Regards,

Ross
