Hello All, for the part TPS7A3501, the datasheet specifies a block diagram, can anyone help to understand how is this working. Is the opamp indicated in the block diagram a simple opamp or is there any level shifter kind of structure also involved.
if i understand correctly for a given resistor value between NR and ground the dropout will remain constant irrespective of the load current?

Yes the Functional Block Diagram is a simplified circuit to show how TPS7A3501 functions. The op-amp shown operates as a buffer to drive the gate of the pass FET. Unlike a traditional LDO, the output is not divided down because TPS7A3501 does not regulate the output to a set voltage. Rather the divider is on the positive channel of the op-amp so that we regulate the delta voltage between Vin and Vout.
