TLV70718PDQNR : Continuous Power Dissipation / Rated operating ambient temp (˚C)

My customer needs  help  with TLV70718PDQNR

 1) Continuous Power Dissipation (W)

 2) Rated operating ambient temp (˚C)

Do we have such data ?

  • Hi Naser,

    LDOs are power dissipative devices rated over a operating junction temperature range.  Continuous power dissipation (PD) and ambient temperature (Ta) can be calculated using the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance (Θja):

    Tj(max) = PD(max) * Θja + Ta (max)

    From the Recommended Operating Conditions table and Thermal Information table we can find Tj(max) and Θja:

    125 = PD(max) * 208.1 + Ta (max)

    At this point, we have one equation and two variables.  Typically a customer knows either the max power dissipation for their application ((Vin - Vout) * Iout) or the max ambient temperature for their application.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan
