TPS7A63-Q1: OUTPUT Reset adjustable?

Part Number: TPS7A63-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7B63-Q1

Team,

I'm FAE in TI Korea Automotive Team.

There is reset issue that LDO resets during low voltage input test down to 4V. Since TPS7A6350-Q1 resets when output voltage goes down to 4.65V, customer cannot meet cold-cranking requirement from OEM. Is there any solution to change reset voltage or disable reset function?

I found TPS7B6350-Q1 has adjustable reset voltage function with PGADJ pin. It looks it totally can replace RESET function in TPS7A6350-Q1. Do you think this device can replace TPS7A6350-Q1?

Please let me know if you have any idea.

Thanks,

Ian Lee

  • Hi Ian,

I do not see a reason why you could not use TPS7B63-Q1 in your application in place of TPS7A6350-Q1. It is important to note that when you set the PGADJ so that PG is high when Vin is 4 V, you are setting PG to be logic high while the LDO is in dropout. While this will not have a negative impact on the LDO, it should be noted that PG will no longer indicate when the LDO is regulating the output for your application.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
