TPS799: Need high accuracy, is a fixed voltage or adjustable more accurate?

Hi,

I need an accurate 2.85VDC with low current, 20mA. I need 2% minimum accuracy. Am I better off using the TPS799285DRVR fixed output or should I use an adjustable such as the TPS79901DRVR? Which one will be more accurate assuming I were to use 1% resistors for the adjustable? If I use 0.1% does that make the adjustable more accurate?

    The fixed output version will have the higher system level accuracy while the adjustable version provides more flexibility. We do not include external component tolerance in our accuracy specification in order to allow customers flexibility in choosing external components. Internal resistors are included; therefore an application using a fixed output LDO is normally more accurate than an application using an adjustable output LDO. Many customers prefer adjustable output LDOs because they only need to qualify one part for a variety of output voltages and adjustable devices have more flexibility to do things such as current sharing and margining.
