TPS7A45: timing characteristics are for the output in relation to a stimulus applied to the SHDN pin

Part Number: TPS7A45

Hello Team,

Please find below my customer request on TPS7A4501DCQR

Could you tell me what the timing characteristics are for the output in relation to a stimulus applied to the SHDN pin ?

Of most concern to us is how quickly the regulator turns on the output when SHDN changes from low to high. The time for the output to shutdown is of lower importance (and will probably be influenced strongly by capacitance on the output, which in our case is about 20uF) but if you have figures it would be good to know.

Thanks,

Maxime

  • Hi Maxime,

I took the below scopeshot on a stock TPS7A45xxEVM-385.  Vin was 4 V, Vout was 3.3 V, and /SHDN was 4 V.  As you can see the startup time was ~60 us.  This is considered typical.

Shutdown time will be dependent on your load.  The higher your load, the faster the output capacitor will discharge.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan
