Q: LP2951 - Can fixed output be adjustable? by 1098475
The LP2951 has fixed and adjustable versions available. Is it possible to use the 3.3V or 5V version for adjustable.
Q: Re: LP2951 - Can fixed output be adjustable? by 10449
Yes, the LP2951 is designed to be both fixed and adjustable from the same IC. For example, you can buy the LP2951-33D and use it for a fixed 3.3V output or use it for any other voltage between 1.235V and 30V output. The user selects either the fixed or adjustable configuration by the external connections to the FEEDBACK, OUTPUT, SENSE, and VTAP pins. Please refer to paragraph "Programming Output Voltage (LP2951 Only)" paragraph in the datasheet for the specific connections and for the equation to set the output voltage. Note that only the D, P, and DRG 8 pin packages have the adjustable option. The 3 pin L package is only the fixed option.
