Hello.
Does somebody know what`s the reverse (sink) current in OUT pin when the device is turned off by EN (enable) PIN? I didn`t find this information in datasheet and TI Tecnical Support suggested that I ask for it here...
Regards,
Christos
I assume you are asking about the reverse leakage of the internal diode? This is not specified, but the leakages of SW and L are--they are very low, a few uA at most. The reverse current in the diode should be similar.
Thank you Chris.
Looking at Functional Block Diagram in component datasheet, the total OUT leakage current is the internal diode plus "OVP ShortCircuit" ones. In my application this current should be lower then 1 uA...
Hi Christos,
That is going to depend on your output bias voltage. I took a couple of data points for reference but, if you tell me your Vout bias I can get a more accurate reading for you.
Ir = 4.34uA for Vout bias = 5V, Vin = 0V but, connected, and EN = off
Ir = 0.84uA for Vout bias = 5V, Vin = 5V, and EN = off
Ir = 0.67uA for Vout bias = 1V, Vin = 0V but, connected, and EN = off
Ir = .037uA for Vout bias = 1V, Vin = 5V, and EN = off
Best Regards,
Michael Green
Thank you Michael.
The nearest condition of my application is "Ir = 0.67uA for Vout bias = 1V, Vin = 0V but, connected, and EN = off". In this condition, the leakage current is next to the acceptable value. Anyway, I`m going to use TPS61170-Q, which presents lower leakage current and features a better programming of the output voltage.
Regards.
