TPS54360 Surge Voltage capacity.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54360

Hi,

We are using TPS54360 DC-DC Converter in one of project that will be implemented in Automotive Envoronment  with following specification.

     Working Voltage = 24V.

     Output Voltage = 5V.

Average load current = 300 mA.

     Switching Frequency = 700 Khz.

I have observe some Load dump surges at the at the vehicle Battery with following specifications.

Pulse Time period = 350 msecons.

Pulse peak voltage = Around 80V.

In datsheet of TPS54360 it is mentioned that Max Input voltage is 65V.

If I apply 75V for the period of 350msecond then will it damage TPS54360 ?

In other words , Can anybody specify the Surge handling Capacity of TPS54360 ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Rajesh Matere.
