Question about TPS54528 Sw node under-shoot

Hi,

As for the attached TPS54528 Sw-Node voltage waveform,

we can see an over and undershoot in it.

I think it's effective for reducing the overshoot to add a CR snubber between SW Node and PGND.

But I'm not sure the CR snubber is also effective for reducing the undershoot.

I'd like to hear your opinion.

Thanks

  • Some overshoot and undershoot is allowed and expected.  For teh overshoot on high side turn on and RC snubber can be effective.  For low side undershoot, layout is most critical.  You may also use a schottky diode to clamp the undershoot.
