Boost configuration for step-down pourpose

Hi all,

It seems to me (I might be wrong) one of the Ti's employees has published some paper on how a boost dedicated configuration might be used to perform step - down function! If I'm not too wrong can you please indicate me the title, authors and further details on this article?

Do you think a SEPIC is configuration you remember. It has 2 inductors (or a coupled inductor) instead of 1 and a coupling capacitor between the windings. SEPIC's are designed with boost converter control and they will step-up or step-down. There are a number of references to SEPIC designs on ti.com.

This TPS6102x application note discusses step-down using a boost. The step-down configuration is actually a boost followed by a linear LDO regulator.

That low side switch could accomplish PFC function. Yes, it's a SEPIC not a BOOST!
