My customer has question about TPS40170.
Could you tell me about question.

[Queation]
When my customer disable frequency synchronization,
how should my customer set M/S pin?
*floating(slave mode) or be tied to VIN(master mode)

My customer warry about noise issue.
Because SYNC pin is floating.
How is the best preventing noise issue?

If they will not be using the SYNC feature it is recommended to put the TPS40170 into slave mode. Connecting the M/S pin to ground will also put it in slave mode and make sure there are no noise issues.

Sorry I reread and saw the question is on the SYNC pin. i recommend putting it in slave mode to make the SYNC pin an input and ground it to avoid any noise on the pin.

I recommend to have:

M/S to ground
SYNC to ground
