TPS61029 Noise Reduction

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61029

Hello,

I am optimizing a TPS61029 design and am trying to reduce acoustic noise coming from the MLCC input filter capacitors (Murata GRM21BR61C475KA88K).

Do you have any tips for reducing acoustic noise of the MLCCs?

Thank you very much,

Russell

  • Hi Russell

is this the same question from valvesoftware? following is my reply to that email

    1. Small package should help to reduce the noise
    2. Several capacitor in parallel may help to reduce the noise
    3. Large capacitance or small capacitor will change the noise frequency, but it is hard to say better or worse.
    4. Place the device in the corner of the system board, not the center. And other large package component should be away from the noise source.

    thanks
