Ladies and Gentlemen:

 

I am using a TPS61027 in a dimming application.  At higher voltages (6 to 6.5 v in) the output voltage goes to about 5.3 volts and eventually the part will fail.  See attached schematic.  Load at 5 v and 100% duty cycle is 200 ma. 

 

Why the part failing and how do I prevent it?

    very sorry for the late reply.

    there is diode before TPS61027. is the "6.5V in" before the diode or after the diode(BAT pin of TPS61027). could you post the waveform of input voltage and output voltage at the "6.5V in" condition.

    most of the device damaged relate to PCB layout. could you please share the PCB?
