Powering Avago MGA-30489 Amplifier

Hi All,

I need to power this Avago Amplifier (attached data sheet) and  I am trying to figure out what would be the best device to use.

Requirements:

  • I need a low noise device with high efficiency.
  • My input voltage to power the regulator will be +11.0v and I need an output with +6.0v.
  • The Max current for the Amplifier is 180mA, but I always like to double up.
  • Also, I need the device to be enabled ON/OFF.

Can you please help find a device that will be a perfect fit.

Thanks in advance!

  • If low noise is your top priority you may want to consider a linear regulator. Efficiency will be only 55% but the power dissipation is only 0.9W.
Other wise you can use a buck converter. Many too choose from in your range. Also you could consider a buck pre-converter with an LDO follower for low noise.
