I'm currently designing a power solution to power one of the rails (1.2V) for an Altera FPGA. Referring to TI's slyt395b article, I decided to use the TPS54318 IC to power the 1.2V rail. Looking at the inductor chosen, the size has become an issue as I would like the smallest footprint possible. The bottom line is I need verification of the inductor to use for the output. Luckily, my design's parameter aren't as demanding as the reference circuit.
Vin(max) = 3.6V
Vin(typ) = 3.3V
Vout = 1.2V
Iout(max) = 0.6A
Working out the equations in section 9.2.2.2 of the TPS54318 datasheet, I calculated an inductance of 4.7uF. Would this particular inductor work? Specifically, series resistance. I attached my diagram below for reference.
