TPS61027 Output current = Input current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61027

Hello,

I'm using the TPS61027 with th fixed output voltage of 5V.

I build the circuit as told in the datasheet, using a 6,8µH inductance from WE, a 2,2µF ceramic and 100µF tantalum capacitive in the output and a 10µF ceramic capacitive at the input voltage.

By putting 2 (AA) Mignons Alkaline battery in row, the input voltage is about 3V. At the Output I get the wished 5V, but when I put my solenoid at the output, which needs about 80mA to work at 5V, it doesn't work because the current is about 45mA. The input current is the same, so the current doesn't changed.

What do you think the problem is?

Thanks a lot
