TPS61088EVM Efficiency Curves

Hi Team,

I was wondering if you have any official data on the efficiency performance of the TPS61088EVM as it come out of the box with 3.0V 3.3V and 4.2V input supply?

My efficiency data seems to be quite a bit shy from the spec on the datasheet with the EVM. I have much higher efficiencies at output currents less than 1A.

Please find my test data below.

Best Regards,

Matt Beardsworth

  • Hi Matthew,

How did you test the efficiency? I guess you test it with a long input and output wire. Because I noticed that Vo=8.53V/Io=0.4A, while Vo=8.01V/Io=1.295A, the output voltage regulation was so poor. Generally, the efficiency should be higher than 90% .

The efficiency test should be a on board test. That is: the input and output voltage should be tested on the EVM board, the voltage showed on the input voltage source and output load is not the actual input and output voltage because of the long wire., there was a big voltage drop across the wire if the wire was long and current was high.

Please refer to the attached picture for how to test the efficiency.

Could you please share the detailed application information for us? Like in what kind of equipment? Volume? MP schedule? You can send the information to me by email, my email address is helen-chen@ti.comTPS61088 efficiency setup.pptx

    Best regards,
