TPS51216 / S3 and VTT timing.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS51216, TPS51200, TINA-TI

Hi all.

I would like to know the start up timing of S3 and VTT.
I see the start up timing of S5 and VDDQ at figure29.
Is S3-VTT start up timing and  S5-VDDQ start up timing same?

If you have timing waveform,I would like to the data,
if you don't have it, the only value of S3 and VTT start up  is OK!

Please give me answer as soon as possible.

Sho Ogane

  • Hi all.

    I am waiting your comment.
    My customer ask me answer.

  • Let me see if I can find someone to respond....

  • Hi Sho,

The VTT LDO regulator in TPS51216 should be similar as TPS51200.
Please refer to the startup timing diagram (figure 16, 17) in latest TPS51200 datasheet.

    Thanks

  • Hi Qian-san,

    Thank you for your support.
I'm Yaita and colleague of Sho Ogane.
I would like to ask additional two questions below.

    1)
I understood the calculation formula to decide tss (transition time from S3=High to VTT) is the following.
    - tss = Cout x Vo / Ioocl
    Should I set Ioocl=3A for TPS51216?
My customer uses Cout=44uF and Vo(VTT)=0.6V.

    2)
If I consider tss of TPS51216, I believe the following description from TPS51200 datasheet shouldn't be applied to TPS51216.
    Is my understanding correct?
    ------------------------------------------------------
    (TPS51200 datasheet page.10)
    >When VO is outside of the powergood window, the current clamp level is one-half of the full overcurrent limit (OCL) level.
    >When VO rises or falls within the PGOOD window, the current clamp level switches to the full OCL level.
    ------------------------------------------------------

    Your support would be appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Yaita / Japan disty

  • 1) The VTT regulator capability in TPS51216 is 2A.

The TPS51216 TINA model is available online, I suggest to use TINA simulation to understand the part behavior.

    2) I think your understanding is correct.

    Thanks

  • Hi Qian-san,

Thank you for your advice. I could confirm the result to use TINA-TI.
I really appreciate for your support!
