Hi sir,

I have a question about the TPS65286 operation temperature, I have test TPS65286 as below condition, I want to check this temperature calculation is correct or not.(99℃ is real measurement on our MB TPS65286 by thermal imager)

Vin = 20V

Vout = 5V / 4A

Eff.= 80.03

Pd = 4.88W

Tj = TA + ɵja*Pd = 99℃ + 35.6*4.88 = 272℃, but it seems over absolute Tj, is this calculation is right?

Jeff,

TA means room temperature, normally is about 25C

If you have got the device (case) thermal (99), please use below equation:

Tj=99 + ɵjcbot*Pd

Hi Jason,

If I used below K-type thermal sense to measurment TPS65286 surface temperture, also using [Tj=99 + ɵjcbot*Pd ]to get Tj?
