TPS63024 - About usage of this device

Hi Team,

 

Our customer would like to use TPS63024 at the following circuit.

According to our customer, A radiation noise is improved if we connect “around 15pF of capacitor” between L1 and GND.

However, they worry whether TPS63024 does not malfunction.

Could you please let us know if there is any concern?

    Would you tell me about the progress on this matter?

    I simulated the customer’s conditions using "TINA-TI".

    As a result, I guess that that is functioning normally.

    Using a capacitor on the L1 node helps filtering the spikes on the switching node, 15pF is a pretty small value, therefor I do not expect any significant impact on the device functionality.

    If the customer is worried on the spikes seen at the L1 node, another solution is to choose the right input capacitors that helps to filter high frequency noise. What is the power source of the IC in this application? do you have 800mA DC at the output?

    Could you share more details on the application? Do you have a system level block diagram?
    what is the business opportunity?
