TPS40210: ISNS inception point

Hi Expert,

I have check TPS40210 datasheet page25, there are a design example, the Spec shows the Iocp inception point minimum is 3.5A.

But in the EVM user guide, it's almost the same condition, but the the Iocp inception point minimum is 3.1A.

How do I determine the Iocp inception point minimum value? Thanks!

    Hello Jerry,

    There are so many factors that can influence the operation of a device in a particular design.

    The EVM is a guideline for a total solution application. However in making determinations about the ability of a part the datasheet is the final authority so I would recommend using the 3.5A min limit that is specified in the datasheet.

    Factors that could be contributing to the variation seen in the application of the EVM as external discrete component tolerances. Note that that typical value for Iocp on the EVM is closer to 3.5A at the 3.7A
