TPS65261-1: Decap value

HI,

I am using TPS65261-1 and it is mention in datasheet that 10uF capacitor at input side for each pin PVIN1,PVIN2,PVIN3,VIN.Does it mean to connect four 10UF decap at each input pin?Or if i am connecting all four pin together then one 10UF capacitor is enough for operation?

I am using 12V as input supply.

One more doubt i have regarding the VDIV pin of TPS65261-1 device.What should be the voltage level for this pin?I am connecting this this pin to 12V supply so what should be the resistor divider need to be required to use?

Nahar,

each pin PVIN1, PVIN2, PVIN3 need a 10uf capacitor on the board; VIN pin, 1uf capacitor is ok. (refer datasheet 11.2 Layout Example)

pin VDIV plus RESET pin, it is a reset circuit; when the voltage on VDIV pin is higher than 1.23V, RESET pin will be pulled high. if you do not use this function, leave VDIV, RESET pin floating.

HI Jason,

What if i use 1uF,10UF,22uF,47UF for PVIN1,PVIN2, PVIN3,VIN pin? Does it degrade the performance ?

Nahar,

In our EVM, we use 10 uf for PVIN1/2/3 and 1 uf for VIN pin, a little degrade can be accepted.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I have one more doubt regarding reset.

It is mention RESET as Open drain power failure output signal.When VDIV pin is higher than 1.23V, RESET pin will be pulled high but i want to know that this reset is active high or active low?

If it is active high signal then i put the voltage on VDIV pin less than 1.23 volt and vice -a -versa.Please let me know if my understanding is correct.

Hi,

If I don't want to use reset feature in this IC then what i need to do for reset and VDIV pins?
Can I left both as open ?

hi,

RESET pin can be loating;

VDIV pin floating or connect to GND are all ok.
