TPS62050: Fixed PWM & comparator low 2 threshold

Part Number: TPS62050

Hi,

On pg.15, section 10.2.1.2.4, it mentions "The converter enters the fixed frequency PWM mode again as soon as the output voltage falls below the

comparator low 2 threshold set to 1.6% below VO, nominal.". Is this happens automatically? How does it get out from this mode?

Thanks.

  • Hello YY,

you are right, the converter automatically enters fixed PWM mode as soon as the output voltage falls 1.6% below Vout nominal.
The converter gets back to power save mode when the average output current falls below the skip threshold (100 mA at low input voltages and 200 mA at maximum input voltage) for at least 32 clock cycles. This is described in the data sheet on page 11, chapter 9.4.3 .

    Best regards,
    Ivo
