TPS62130A: Shut down current less than 2uA, but max to 25uA

Part Number: TPS62130A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV62130A, TLV62150A

Hi Team

My customer is confused about TPS62130A shut down current (EN=LOW), in typical condition the shutdown current is 1.5uA-25uA, in full temperature range is 1.5uA to 4uA, my customer can not accept 25uA shutdown current, could you help to confirm this? thanks.

  • Hi Team
I found TLV62130A that the shutdown current only has 4uA, so I have another question that:
My customer application is 4.4-8Vin_3.3Vout_0.6A, does TLV62130A suitable for this case? or do we have lower cost solution that suitable for low dropout application? thanks.
  • Hi Randy,

It seems that when you replied to your own post, we missed this as an un-replied to thread.

Actually, TLV62150A would be the lowest cost for your specs with 100% mode. The shutdown current spec is the same as the TPS version.

The difference comes from the header to the electrical table: TPS is rated to 125 C, while TLV is just 85 C. This also explains the 25 uA value--this is at 125 C. Please see Figures 1 and 2 in the D/S for the temperature impact--it dominates for shutdown current.
  • Hi Chris

I'm concern TLV62150A lowest operation voltage only has 4V, my customer needs to convert 3.8Vout, and Vin needs to lowest, so it should be around 4Vin, but TLV62130A shows can operate at 3V.

  • Ah, you have other Vin/Vout specs than what you shared initially. Yes, TLV62130A has a wider Vin range and supports higher currents, which may also be of use.
