TPS54824: current sharing

Our customer would like to use this device with current share configuration.

Is it possible to use in parallel? If it is possible,is there any application note for that?

We are concerned how does this device operate for the current sharing.

Or does we need the another device such as current sharing device?

TPS54824 is not designed for current share applications. You could possibly possibly design an external load share controller, but I think it would be too much. I'm sure we have other solutions that can support over 25 A directly. What are your requirements?

Before that, let me ask about another configuration.

How about using UCC29002 with this device?
(Because the customer already have purchased this device for the previous model. So they would like to use this device for next model.)

Hamamoto-san,

It may be possible, but the UCC29002 datasheet implies that remote sense is required. There may be some work around for that, but I have never personally used UCC29002, so I do not know about any alternate applications.

I checked and it should be possible to operate the UCC29002 with a device such as TPS54824 that does not have remote sense capability. I do not have areference design though.

Hi John-san,

Thank you for your confirmation.

The condition which is required is Vin=4.5V~16V, Vo=1.0V, Io=50A.
So, we are considering to use ths configuration such as TPS54824 + UCC29002(8~9 set) for this condition.
Or do you have any other solution which is matched this condition?

Hamamoto-san,

TPS543C20 or TPS543B20 are two phase stackable solutions that would work. Webench also suggests 3 controller options, TPS40425, TPS40428 and TPS53667.
