Q:
TPS62120 has a 0.8V reference, yet the front page of the datasheet shows min Vout of 1.2V. What’s the reason it won’t support 1V output?
A:
Operation at output voltages below 1.2V is allowed but may show different performance than the typical characteristic curves in the datasheet, specifically in regards to efficiency, operating frequency, output voltage regulation, and output ripple. The IC is able to convert down to 0.8V, but its performance should be verified as sufficient for the end application.
