Q: TPS63030 - pre bias greater than set output voltage by 1825225
What happens if the TPS63030 is enabled when there is an existing pre bias at the output?
i.e. my Vout is set to 3.3 V, but prior to turning on the part, there is already a 3.8V pre bias at the output.
A: Re: TPS63030 - pre bias greater than set output voltage by 1825225
Testing shows the part can handle prebias voltages above and below the Vout setpoint.
Test 1 setup:
Vout = 3.3V
Vin = 2.5V (boost mode) - provided by power supply #1
Voutprebias = 3.8V - provided by power supply #2
Vout response shown below (triggered on enable):
Test 2 setup:
Vout = 3.3V
Vin = 4V (buck mode)
Voutprebias = 3.8V
Test 3 setup:
Vin = 2.5V (boost bmode)
Voutprebias = 2.8V
