Original Question: TLV62130 Output Voltage Limitation
Hello Team,
One of my customers is planning to use TLV62130 to drive a high power LED which has forward drop of around 6V. The datasheet of the device specifies the maximum output voltage to be 5V and output voltage of 7V in case feedback pin is open. What is the exact limitation on output voltage? Can it be used for output voltage of 6V?
Verified Answer: RE: TLV62130 Output Voltage Limitation
The TLV62130's recommended maximum output voltage is 5V. The TPS62130's recommended maximum output voltage is 6V. This is the voltage at the output of the device, at the VOS pin. So, the forward voltage of the LED plus the drop across the sense resistor would be recommended to remain below those levels. We recommend operating the device within its recommended operating conditions.
