Q: TPS6223X External Resistor Divider by 667563
Dear
Many thanks.
I received a question from a customer about TPS6223x.
The question relates to the usage of the device.
The question of the customer is follows.
[Q1]
In TPS6223x,
it is recommended use like figure 1 of the attached file basically.
This understands it. However, we avoid that the kinds of the DCDC
converter increase.
Therefore can we use it like attached file figure 2?
Please teach the reason if use of figure 2 is not accepted.
Q: Re: TPS622XXX How to use! by 244698
No you cannot add external resistor dividers to change output voltage.
The TPS6223X device requires FB pin to be connected to the output as part of the control topology, only figure 1 is recommended.
A divider resistor network is not permitted with this device, figure 2 is not recommended.
The output voltage must be changed only by changing the device.
Hi there,
this is a really good design note. But it would be very helpful to SEE also the figure 1 and figure 2.!
Figure 1 showed the FB pin of each TPS6223x connected directly to its output voltage. This is the only recommended operation. Figure 2 showed a voltage divider between the output voltage and FB. This is not recommended for this device.
