Q: TPS64203, input voltage range. by 1090226
Hello,
I have a customer who is asking if the input voltage limit (6.5V recommended and 7V absolut) is due to the process or due to test limit?
If it's due to test limit, what could be the customer's minimum production (or price) that will justify that TI is testing the device with an higer input voltage (customer need 7.4v max).
The customer would like to know if he needs to redesign or if TI can qualify this device for 7.4V.
Thanks in advance.
Kevin

This is a process limitation. Therefore, we will not be be able to qualify this device for 7.4V.

The TPS62400 absolute maximums are based on silicon limitations. The IC can not be tested to higher operating voltages.

You might look at the TPS40222 or the more generic TPS40200.

Thank you both for the quick answer.
