PWRON on TWL6030

I am working on a new design using TWL6030 and I would like some precisions regarding the PWRON pin.

Pin L15: PWRON: External on-button switch-on even (primary input to launch system wakeup)

It is not clear to me whether a PWRON edge transition is mandatory for the TWL6030 to boot up. My design doesn't have a power button and simply turns on/off when power is applied or removed (it runs on a power supply, not on a battery). There is no wake-up event other than the power being applied.

The previous generation had a TPS65950 and we had tied PWRON high with a pull-up resistor and it worked good. Can I do the same with TWL6030?

 Thank you,

  Yannick.

If power on is not used leave it not connected. There is an internal pull up which is ok.

    Hi Philippe,

In the documentation of TWL6030, I cannot find any information about "OMAP Power Management" goals (I am using a Pandaboard Rev A4). I am wondering if there are the same registers and addresses as are in TPS65950 (that have been used in beagle-board)?  Do TWL6030 and TPS65950 have the same structure?

    Regards

    Hamidreza,

TWL6030 uses a different register programing model versus TPS65950. This document is delivered under non disclosre agrement. Please contact your TI representative.

    Bestes
