TPS65094: Using RSMRSTB to drive RSM_RST_N

Part Number: TPS65094

Hi Team,

Good afternoon, my customer is interested in using the RSMRSTB to drive the RSM_RST_N on their Apollo Lake processor - is this a recommended/common use of this pin?

My understanding is that this is an option in the reference design (using 0 ohm resistors), however the installed resistors route the RSM_RST_N to an MCU.

Regards,

~John

  • Hi John,

That is likely a better question for Intel. Once the PMIC releases RSMRSTB, I believe the processor should have its required power. I'm guessing the MCU is only necessary if there is another condition that they would want reset. The MCU could be used as an AND gate.

    Thanks,

    Kevin LaRosa
