Hi,

One of my customer asked me following question.

Does the TPS6518x family have specific features dedicated for the E Ink panel?

Unfortunately I am not familiar with the application. I can not see any special features. I just see the family is charge pump PMU dedicated for low current application. Is my understanding correct?  Give me your comment....

Best regards,

Tetsuro Shibuya

    Tetsuro,

The TPS6518x family was designed specifically for E-INK based applications. It provides all the power rails needed to drive the display with +/-15V LDOs that are accurate to withing 50mV of each other, a software adjustable VCOM rail since E-Ink display requires a different voltage for that supply, as well as an integrated temperature sensor so that the driving waveforms can be changed according to ambient temp of the panel.

It is also designed to have minimal current draw when in the off state. Since E-Ink is bistable it draws power only when being updated the TPS6518x family helps keep current drain from the supply at a minimum (less than 10uA) which helps extend the life of the battery.

    Regards,
