TPS65721 power using slide switch on PB_IN

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65721

Hello,

Is it possible to replace the push-button switch in the TPS65721 reference design with a slide switch so that PB_IN is always tied to ground to provide power and enable DCDC_1 and LDO_1? Will this allow us to keep the converters on without asserting HOLD_DCDC1 and HOLD_LDO1 high?

The goal is to simply replace the push-button switch with a slide switch for our design.

Regards,

Eric

  • Yes, the TPS65721 can be configured to use a slide switch which pulls /PB_IN to ground for the ON state and which connects /PB_IN to SYS for the OFF state. DCDC1 and VLDO1 will turn on and stay on as long as /PB_IN stays low and the device is powered. Likewise, the supplies will turn off when /PB_IN is released high if HOLD_DCDC1 and HOLD_LDO1 are not asserted.
