TPS65721 Feedback Voltage Dividers

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65721

The TPS65721 has 2 sets of feedback voltage dividers - on page 43 of the datasheet it recommends that the total resistance of both dividers remain below 1Mohm.  What are the consequences for exceeding 1Mohm?  Will it affect the stability of the output the closer I get to a 1Mohm divider, or make it unstable if I exceed that value?

Thanks very much!

  • Hi Mr/Mrs Buffalo,

If the resistor divider exceeds 1 MOhm then the feedback signal will be too weak for proper control. The loop will be more susceptible to noise injection on the feedback node which is high impedance. Its best advised to stay in the 100kOhm range for the divider.
