TPS65023 setting condition

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65023

Hi

My customer has questions about TPS65023.
Could you tell me about questions.

[Question]
- When I set a register, is there any condition?
ex. I should set register after nRESPWRON is High and xxmsec later.

- TPS65023 can set tRESPWRON by external capacitor.
Is there any condition about minimum Crset value and minimum tRESPWRON time?

Best regards,

tateo

  • Tateo,

    1. VCC needs to be above 2V. I am not sure on the timing delay after that when I2C becomes available.
      1. Do you have a specific time in need that you want to communicate via I2C?
    2. There is not really a minimum or a maximum tRESPWRON time to say. You should set it for your application needs.
      1. You should not leave the pin open either.
  • Thank you for your reply.

    [Question]
My customer has a question about register setting.
You teach us "Vcc needs to be above 2V".
In datasheet, recommended operating condition of Vcc is 2.5 - 6V.
They think Vcc=2V is not recommended operating condition.
    Please tell me more detail.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

VCC > 2V is for the I2C domain. This is to keep the I2C active and not lose the values of the registers. The operating voltage range of 2.5V - 6V is correct. You need to stay with the absolute maximums and UVLO all the time. You will want some margin so, you do not violate the absolute max or drop below a UVLO that would reset the IC or cause you to lose your I2C register settings.

Please note the difference in recommended operating conditions and absolute max or UVLO thresholds. The recommended operating condition is where you want to operate the device and the abs max or UVLO are hard boundaries that you do not want to cross.

    My customer have more question.
Could you tell me about question?

    - My customer write output voltage to DEFCORE_Add.
      My customer has two case.

       a. When nRESPWRON is Low, my customer can't write.
       b. When nRESPWRON is High, my customer can write.

Probably, my customer should write when nRESPWRON is High.
      Is this correct?
      Can I check in datasheet?

    Best regards,
