LM10502 EVM GUI won't connect and a green LED won't come up

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM10502

HI there,

We did a little bit more test. Again, according to the LM10502 EVM User's guide,..

When the USB board is plugged in for the first time, the operating system prompts for "New hardware found" and installs the USB driver. If this does not happen, try unplugging and plugging in the cable again.

We tried many times on several PCs, we didn't get "New hardware found" prompts and a green LED, and the USB driver was not installed, so LM10502 GUI was not able to turn to "ready", it stayed in "not connected". Because USB driver would not install automatically, please let us know if there is a way to install USB driver manually. Your quick response is very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Rong Zhou

  • Is it possible for someone at TI to email us the USB driver for the LM10502 Evaluation board? The GUI software is not finding the driver for the LM1502 Evaluation board.

  • We've got another LM10502 EVM board, same problem! GUI still won't connect. We still can't use USB interface to control LM10502. Can someone from TI look at this, please! At least, let us know if you are able to use GUI to control the PMIC. Thanks!

  • Can someone at TI test LM10502 EVM with USB GUI software? Let us know if you are able to connect GUI to the evaluation board and use it to control the PMIC. We tried two LM10502 EVMs, and neither work with software. USB driver won't install and GUI stayed "Not Connected". Your confirmation is very much appreciated!

  • Hi Rong, apologies for the delay in responding, I've only just received the email thread request. We've checked one of our fresh boards and it also has a connection problem. It looks like the 8051 uC has not been flashed as we flashed our board then used the GUI software from ti.com and we have no problems, we can communicate fine. Can I send you the board we have from here while I investigate this with our EVM team?
    Thanks,
    Murray.
  • Yes Murray, please send the board you have, the one that works with the GUI in your lab ASAP. If you need the shipping address, please contact me through email at rong.zhou@amkor.com. Thank you very much for your help.
